5th win in a row for Korda, ties LPGA record
One of the most amazing records in sports was tied this weekend when Nelly Korda won her 5th tournament in a row - tying a mark set by Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam.
This is even more remarkable considering she had surgery in 2022 due to a blood clot.
"Because obviously then I was just more scared for my health," she said. "Competing was kind of on the back seat. I was not thinking about competing at all. But I think all of the sad times and the health scares that I have gone through have made me who I am today.
Korda hasn't lost since January!
"It's been an amazing feeling these past couple weeks knowing that I can go on this stretch and that if I stay in my bubble and I keep golf in a sense simple and let it flow, then I can have so, so much fun out here," she said.
Korda took home $1.2 million from a purse of $7.9 million, a significant increase from last year's purse of $5.2 million. That brings her season earnings to $2,424,216 and her career earnings to $11,361,489.
An absolutely amazing feat for the 2-time Major Champion.

If Minnesota is in love with Maye, can they trade up to get him?
Rumors are all over the place this week as the NFL Draft is finally here on Thursday.
Over the weekend, it was shared that the Vikings are IN LOVE with QB Drake Maye from Carolina.
Appearing on "The Ross Tucker Football Postcat," NFL Network and former NFL QB Chase Daniel indicated the Vikings are "in love" with Maye.
Can they trade up to get him? Sure....do they want to? Maybe.
“I do know the Minnesota Vikings absolutely are in love with [Maye],” Daniel said. “I don’t know if they have enough ammo to get up to that third spot where the Patriots are picking, because I do think you’re probably going to have to get to that spot.”
The Vikings have picks 11 and 23 in the 1st round but you would you have to assume they need to get to 3, maybe even 2, to get Maye for sure.
The Commanders at 2 are not budging, and sound like they want Daniels. Patriots at 3 could be interesting. They need a lot, so 2 picks instead of 1 makes sense. But they also need a franchise QB.
These rumors will be loud all week but the fact that teams are not starting to sound attached to players makes this week a fun and crazy time ahead.
My guess - they will need to throw in WR Jefferson to make any sort of deal work....but that will mane the new team has to pay Jefferson.
A lot of moving parts...

Dame reminds everyone he is still a force
News came a little before tipoff that Giannis would not be playing for the Bucks, and would could sorta feel a weird, uh oh around the league.
But, as it appeared the Pacers did, most people forgot that it could still be Dame time in Milwaukee, and it was that time most of Sunday evening.
Damian Lillard set the tone in Game 1 quickly, scoring 35 points in the first half. A blow to the Pacers that they never recovered from.
Dame was his old self. Step back 3s, aggressive drives, he was dominant. With Giannis out, he had to be.
"In the playoffs, it's about setting the tone," Lillard said. "We're going to see this team a lot of times, and you want to establish yourself, especially on your home floor. That was my mentality, to come out and try and set the tone in that way."
No one really got going for Indiana and obviously, they need a better plan to contain Dame.
Game 2 is Tuesday...will any changes be made? Will Dame be ready to light it up again? It would be tough to bet against him.

The best pitcher in baseball is not in the big leagues
Baseball is weird when it comes to contracts. You typically start a star in the minors at the beginning of their rookie year so you don't add another year of experience to their contract blah blah...could you imagine if the NBA or NFL did this?
Williams will go to the minors for 4 weeks for the Bears bc their don't want to start the contract...or, play him right away bc he is the best you have!
That is the example with the Pirates and P Paul Skenes. The #1 pick from last years draft is currently in AAA Indianapolis and absolutely dominating.
4 games, 12 IP, 27 strikeouts and 0.00 ERA.

That couldn't help the Pirates right now?
Yes, they are off to a good start, but that wouldn't help sell tickets?
It is insane that baseball is so far behind other sports when it comes to young talent getting to the big leagues.
Now, the other side of the coin is what is happening in Baltimore. Jackson Holiday was called up after an uproar and it is not going well.
30 at bats, 1 hit, .033 batting average.
Could Skenes fail? For sure? But, consistently throwing over 100 with a dominating ERA in the highest Minor League level should at least give him a chance to go show what he can do.
